Super P-Day in Mar Del Plata

Hello again and Feliz Navidad hahaha

So that was sweet talking to you all yesterday and seeing everyone. It was pretty awesome. You guys all look great!!

I got the Duncans package today that they sent me. Thanks!! Also, the ward Christmas tree letter, thanks!

I forgot to ask you guys what you got yesterday from papa noel. It's pretty funny yesterday when we were talking with Melanie's family and her uncle or something was sayin how he heard on the radio how someone said on the radio that they thought Christmas day means it Santa's b-day haha. And they also didn't like how the Christmas feeling is dying here. I saw some guy working on his trees and I thought, "What are you doing? Don't work, eat some pie or something, its Christmas!" hahaha

Mom mentioned about how she wanted to know what else I ate at the party thing in Mar Del Plata (sea of the silver or (cash)). We ate some meat like beef and the sausage things and some salad and of course bread like they have in every meal. It was funny, they kept missing our table when they were giving out the meat. People would be going on their 3rds and we've had one serving lol. It wasn't a ton of food, but enough to feed everyone. I sat by El Dobson and he's still hilarious haha. Then we played ball and it was gr8!! Some fresh air! There was some Argy scouts in the building, but I was like, "Sorry, I can't play for you now." haha jkjk

So it sounds like I have an accent you say? Thats cool. Is it like a mexy accent like, ¨yeah man howsa goin man¨ or is it a Cali accent cuz I'm with comp from CA haha.

Mar Del Plata is really one of the most gorgeous places I've been. It's funny. When we were driving on the streets to Mar Del Plata they have the normal white lines like in the USA, but in Olavarria they just drive wherever they want haha cuz there's no lines. And it felt weird with the lines and it was a lot slower like in the USA (more formal) to. And I wanted to say to the driver, "faster" haha so if I come back and I drive like a maniac it's alright haha anyways....There are beautiful buildings and beaches and eveything. The main part of Mar del is like a ¨U¨ the shape of the "u¨ is the road and on the tips, top parts are big buildings and it's really incredible. The part in between the ¨U¨ is ocean so you kinda go around it but the ocean is kinda below  ¨downstairs¨ haha or however you can explain it ha. I also knew that they played the FIBA bball tourney to go the Olympics there and so I had an eye out to find it and we passed the arena it was awesome!

Cecilia said she's 70% for sure that she doesn't want to get bapt on the 31st. Her son Nico (11) doesn't want to get bapt too.  Ugh! So I'm lookin forward to a week of miracles to find 3 people to bapt b4 1/1/12 (the last yr ever) Luke 1:37.

It snowed this morning  haha jk. Still sunny. I wanted to ball way bad with the new ball and stuff but comp was like the other elders want us to go hangout with them. I shed a tear jk next week.

Jimmer looks gorgeous in purple. I hope that doesn't sound at all weird or anything haha. Thx for those. Ok sorry I'm talkn lil bit bout ball but how many games are they going to have this yr, like 60? And an all star game or what? it will be a challenge now that the season has started but I promise I'll focus as hard as I can on gospel.. ugh I can do it haha.

It's cool, I heard they have even more fireworks on New Year's Eve at 12 then they had on the 24th at night. So that will be cool to hear! As we were walking to church, it was hilarious, we saw a guy, probably low 20s, sleeping against a wall with one of his shoes off by his leg haha. He probably got drunk and fell asleep haha. I wanted to poke him haha. But after we passed him we think one of the teens set off a firework by him to wake him up cuz we saw him laughin at him when we walked by and we heard a big boom where we just were haha.

Espñ is doing gr8! Still gotta keep goin hard. I could understand everything like I said at church. There are some words that I didn't know why they were placed in the sentence, but so far it's doing good.

Merry Christmas!!! everyone and a happy new year with a new beginning and everything! Party hard, don't stop til you get it. CTR and read the BOM and be gr8. Church is true without a doubt and study your spanish haha. I'll give you a word ¨hoya¨ (ho_ sha) it means awesome. Pretty much the literal translation is Jewel ¨que hoya¨means, thats awesome.

E Tres UNO

1st off Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everything's going perfect! Comp just said at 4 o'clock argy time (12 utah) we will be on Skype. He'll be going 1st,  so I'll get on bout 1or 1:30 utah time. If you need to contact me I'll probably check my email b4 I get on or something.

It does not feel like Christmas at all haha. It's pretty weird. There's no Christmas music. No big decorations. Maybe some lights here and there and maybe a santa thing outside their door. And the most popular decoration is probably the 2 foot high tree thing hahaa. But other than that, not much christmasy stuff. I do love Christmas in summer. It's so hot that a man just walked in with his shirt off and he probably weighs 3 times my size hahaha. I will enjoy the 1st day of summer on the 21st aww yeah lol. It's not extremely hot for me, but my comp hates it haha.¨pobresito¨ the only uncomfortable part is probably having to wear these pants the whole day, but I love the heat. I'm not sure if they focus on the birth of Jesus much here (to answer your question) (LIKE WITH OTHER PPLE)oops caps lock..but really it just feels like a normal week in the middle of the year except that the calendar says December haha. It doesn't have that feel of Christmas except wal mart haha. They've got the Christmas fever and Bieber fever. Saw jb's Christmas cd. Do you have it sub? haha

It's kind of a half P day today. We went shopping at walmart and email today. It's not really p day cuz we have the activity thing in Mar Del Plata this week. We leave from here in the night on Wednesday, like 5 or so. Then arrive like at 8:30 in mar del plata, the next day. There we can play sports. BBALL, USA football etc. But you know for sure you can find me - on the court! I'm pretty excited to go cuz I guess mar del is one of the prettiest places in Argy. I'm defiantly going to take my camera and send some pics your way. Pres will be there. Then we get on a bus like at 10 Thursday night and go back home. We'll probably get home like 1 in morning.

Hows Vegas life everyone? Hope it's warm. Give a high 5 to a tower for me or something haha.

My espñ is doing really good. Yesterday i pretty much understood every word in priesthood class. And it's cool to talk to the kids in our ward and understand them. It's sweet. Hey we got the Liahona from conference!!! It's en espñ, but i think the zone leaders should have some in eng.  It's kinda harder for me to read and understand espñ. I can read fine with pronunciation etc its just remembering what I said. It is hard haha. I did get 2 cards from gma merlyn in the mail thanks!

Cecilia didn't attend church. Nor anyone else :( That always stinks. But hey that was 24 hrs ago. Haven't been in contact with Alberto. Haven't seen Carmen in a while cuz she's been in the hospital. We've been working with the grandkids of Pedro y Lucinda. They're members, but less active and we're teaching their 8 yr old grandkid, and her cousins (3 of them in same family). They have been taught by the missionaries b4 right b4 I arrived here.  One of the cousins got in trouble or something and the mom punished them by saying they can't attend church anymore hahaha. Pretty silly, but that was like 6 months ago.  We talked about working on a ¨baptismal family tree¨ where you baptize a mom, then her kids, then her cousins etc for example. And so we're thinking that if we can baptize the 8 yr old (Priscila) then maybe the dominoes will fall. They've all been to church b4 a few times. So we hope we can get them to church probably twice more then baptize them on 31st cuz we're trying to get the 3 baptisms for this month so we can get 1000 as a mish this yr!

What are my plans for Christmas? Talk to you guys of course!! Then idk haha. I think we'll have lunch with our neighbors the Galli´s. Our church is from 10:30 to 11:30. Other than that, not much else to do. We'll open our gifts, maybe after church or b4. Then listen to Christmas music haha.

Have fun this week. Be safe. Think bout the birth of Jesus and what Hes' done for us. It's amazing what he really did when you think bout it!

Hope you get all you want from Papa Noel y su elf's.
Merry Christmas and see u LIVE next Sunday!! ino puedo esperar!

ps  I sent the package finally. Should get there probably 28thish. Sent it Tuesday.

Nothin really but sunshine here!

Holo haha
All good down south. Nothin really but sunshine here!

Cecilia and her son Julian came to church yesterday, like 10 min b4 sacrament meeting ended. Then Julian wanted to go. Alicia, (recent convert) who we've taken on some lessons to Cecilia's with us said that, "They can come to my house and I'll teach them a lesson. Plus I'll teach my daughter." We were like thanks Alicia, you're awesome cuz I guess when Julian wants to go you can't do much except do what he wants. Alicia loves to share the gospel. She's so cool. She's slowly working on her daughter and loves to go with us to lessons!

Saturday we did a fast to help us try to find more investigators. We were just done talking to a person, a future investigator, bout when we can come by later and then we saw this guy at the end of the apartment lil place. We decided to go and talk to him cuz we're trying to talk to everyone. So we asked him if he knows an ¨Alberto¨ someone that lives close to there and was a former investigator. He's like, "Yep, that's me. But I don't have any interest." But we kept talkin and then he let us in his house. It is a one room house. Pretty humble place. Could fit a bed, sink and table and 2 chairs. So we talked with him and it was kinda a lesson where he had sorta interest but he was still kinda seeming like he might not want to hear more lessons. Just something like that. Then we talked bout baptism and then asked if we could pray. So my comp did it and gave a good prayer. Then after the prayer he was like, "Okay, I'm going to be serious. When I closed my eyes I saw a light (or something) and felt good." My comp explained that that's the Holy Ghost confirming to him that these things are true. He started to tear up and we gave him a hug. He said, "I'm going to read and go to church." And then said that we could pass by in the morning to take him to church. So we went to his house, but he was a sleep like a log! We knocked at his house for like 20 min haha. But nothing! So we're goin to pass by his house, I think on Tues and teach more.

Carmen had an operation on her intestines or something. She's always kinda had health problems, but she doing good. Still need her to assist church (she one with hubby in jail).

Other than that things are goin pretty good.  Espñ is doing alright. I told a kid that my house has crumbled down from a storm yesterday haha. Yeah I didn't understand his question hahaha. He was askin if my house has ever fallen and I thought he asked if it's ever happened with weather in usa hahaha. It's still kinda hard to understand people. Oh well.

I had no idea Christina was sworn in yesterday. There wasn't any big parties or anything for that. But there was day of the Virgin Mary the other day. There wasn't much partying for that either haha. Don't know if people in Laprida attended church yesterday. My comp hasn't called yet. My comp celebrated 1 yr in mish on the 8th.

This Dec 20th there is going to be a ¨Super P Day.¨ That is what they call it where the missionaries either go to Bahia Blanca or Mar del Plata and gather to play games and stuff. Word is ball gets played!! Our half of the mission goes to Mar del Plata. I've heard its pretty there. It's right on the coast.

The people do have a sense of humor here and they love to talk haha. After a meeting in church, like sacrament meeting, people usually like to talk for bout 10-15 min. Then after class maybe 5-10 more min haha. I love it when people try to speak eng here haha. It's hilarious! We have some lunches with a family, the Coria, and they have a son like 24, a returned missionary. And most all spanish speakers learn a lil eng on their mish. Maybe few sentences and sometimes he'll say, "You are my salvation or you are my butterfly, chicken little or happy feet haha. Funny people. And sometime when I ask for them to repeat a question some people try to say it in eng hahaha and they can't speak eng.

Congrats to Baylors QB. I have no idea who you are I think haha Baylor? haha
Jamaal Tinsley's my boy reppin the Pacers! Mr mccleoud you the man!

Work outs are going good. Still thin though haha. People call me Flaco (skinny) but that's all good. Will be sending my package soon :/ haha

Some things that we say when we contact people is, "Hola podemos presentarnos somos misioneros church of jc..can we share a message with you one day?" And i have been lately thinking of changing it up with some really good questions cuz i noticed that they may not seem so interesting. So I'll be workin on that. That's cool mom that you're readin Preach My Gospel. I read it in spanish. It's cool, I can understand it reading. The Book of Mormon in espñ is harder cuz it uses different grammar like the ¨thou, thy" and weird ways  so I have my eng one when I read it. You all should learn spanish. Elder Fee was telling me how he heard a study that the younger you are the easier to learn a language. Like I have a better ability compared to a 30 yr old and a 10 yr old has a better ability then me. And also (when you know 2 languages ) have an average 8 yrs more in life without Alzheimer's. Some pretty cool stats haha. So V you have no excuse to learn Espñ by the end of this month haha.

church is true gospel is incredible prophet is true keep workin hard
Love u all

Crazy Utahish weather in Argy!

Hola everyones!!

todo good here

I just got done reading bout Grandma Smart's letter bout the weather and the wind. Dang that's good that everything is okay. We actually had a similar thing like that to. We got out of lunch at bout afternoonish and then we headed to a less actives house which was pretty far from our house. The day started off hot and normal, then some clouds after lunch, nothing threatening I thought. Then it was lil bit raining, just sprinkles and my comp wanted to try to beat the storm home and go to our house to get jackets haha. But I thought he was nuts so we called a remis (taxi). Then about 2 min later the wind came like crazy. We went inside the members house, the power was out. It was pouring and windy. Then it started raining rocks (actually hail haha they call it rocks) and they were pretty big! I was thinking, "Dang, I thought I was in Argy not Utah lol." So the wind, strong wind, went for like 5 min and we waited for the remis and i thought I heard one of the windows brake. But I think its fine. The remis came, but it was like 3 houses down and so one of the member ladies goes in the rain and everything barefoot and gets the remis to come to our house haha. We ran to the remis and got home good! haha It was pretty nuts. The power was out for a lil bit but luckily we got ours by night. Some tree branches were in the street. Some cable telephone wires and fences were blown over. Some people were saying it was a tornado or hurricane haha. Sweet. So thats my cool story with the weather haha.

We had some investigators assist church. Cicilia, she was a investigator for forever before, but I think the missionaries just gave up on her. She has 2 sons Julian, 14. He has some mind problems. He has a mind like a 5 yr old. He can't talk or anything. He's a capo. He sat on my lap for a lil bit, haha during a lesson. The other son is Nico, 11 yrs. It was cool, during church yesterday she said, "When I get baptized do I have to buy my own clothes?" We told her no. So that's cool she wants to get bapt. We had Alicia go with us to a lesson with her. Alicia's awesome. She loves Pres. Kimball. We'll teach her something then she'll say, "Oh Pres. Kimball said something bout that!! Also, we went to church in Laprida yesterday. The area we go to with the Fees once a week. The record b4 with people were 8 or 9 for people in church. We had 17 people plus 3 babies that we blessed yesterday!! 3 of them are investigators!! Ayelen (ashelin) Camila y adrian! They're cool! We hope to have success for them this week!!

This week my comp wants me to talk on the phone to other missionaries in our district when we takes stats for the day at night haha! I've done some phone calls for lunches to.

Finished Christmas shopping. Got some cool stuff for cheap!

My espñ is doing good. My understanding was good this week. One of the less active ladies talks so fast and I remember when we 1st met her I had no idea what she was saying haha. But now I can lil bit and its sweet! I think it's cool being in my 1st area for a good amount of time cuz I may be here long enough where I can understand people. I can pretty much understand Americans speak, just cuz the accent. And I'm trying to get the Argys down. It's funny, some people its pretty hard to understand. Like our zone leader in our district, he sounds like an Arabian speaking Spanish haha. But he's from Argy. He sounds like that guy off the Simpson's haha.

Food is pretty good. For lunches, we either get noodles, milanesas (breaded meat) or pizza. It's pretty good sometimes lol. Haven't had a big asado (argy barbecue) but I can't wait to have one. I've heard they're gr8. Sometimes for lunches, my comp and I try to guess what we'll be eating. One time I guessed the whole meal perfect, including drinks. I was trying not to do a touchdown dance or something when they brought out the food and I was correct on all lol. I think the most unusual food is still horse. I've heard of people eating, dang it, I just forgot what its called, starts with an A lol.

Shoes are doing pretty good! My big sole ones should last the mish i think. Only wear suits on Sunday. They're still clean.

The other day, we knocked a door of a lady and she was saying how she listened to us (missionaries ) b4 and she said we can't mention Joseph Smith in her house. She also said how she has a the bible and needs no other bible. And it got me thinking of how the church, even if you didn't have a testimony of it, makes totally sense cuz do you think God will stop talking to his children after Jesus died? Nah! It reminded me of that scripture in 2 Nephi about God saying how he gives us the Book of Mormon and how come people don't want to hear more words of God and how we shouldn't just have the bible. I know for sure that if anyone reads Book of Mormon with true intent they'll know the church is true! They'll feel peace and the holy ghost.  The Book of Mormon is so good! If you want to feel the HG read!! I know when I started reading with a purpose it changed me!

Go Utes! Playing in ¨the step¨ Texas (translation) vs GT!  Packers - nuff said and my boy Cam Newton, sup! When in doubt throw to steve smith!

That's cool dad you saw Elder Oaks. His daughter can play the violin way good. She played in the MTC for us. The workouts are fun! Love them!

yo quiroe hablar sobre nada en español ahora jaja

u guys are aweome keep goin hard doing the right etc

Talking to EVERYONE on the street!

Hello people
Life is good!

Comp and I are still here in Olavarrrrrrrrria! I'm glad bout it. It's a chill place. Here people are cool etc.

Glad to hear that you had a good thanksgiving.  Haha Comp and I totally forgot until it hit me at like 10:20 on Thursday night. So then I told comp happy thanksgiving haha. The warm weather keeps you focused for me haha.

I guess there is a volcano in Chile or somethin and so this week we has a lil bit of some smoggy ash stuff in the air. It just looked kinda brown. It was pretty sweet, but other than that weather is awesome hahaha. Comp hates the heat (don't ask me why he lives in Cali). He's funny bout it too, ¨Eat me dog I cant take it! I want to shave all my hair off it's so hot.¨ haha he's funny.

We had no investigators at church, but Carmen, one of our investigators who doesn't go to church cuz she visits her hubby in the jail on Sunday morning, said that she knows the book of mormon is the word of God. We just need to help her with her hubby situation. We went to Laprida, about a 10 min drive from our area. It's still in our area but we took a bus out there. It's cool, the bus drivers have some skill. As soon as you walk on the bus he's driving. Then he takes your money, gives you change and a ticket while he's driving. I have a hard time talking and driving lol jk. But they have skill. Laprida went well. Dropped off a book from a reference we got and taught a 19ish yr old girl. She liked the message, but didn't go to church. Also taught two other girls in their teens sitting in a park. Haha at the end we asked for their address and they didn't know and so we asked for their phone number and her fone is broken. So we have no contact with them haha. We hope that one day maybe we'll just see them in the street and chase them down or something lol.

Comp and I have tried hard to talk to everybody, like people we pass in the street and etc. We take turns presenting ourselves. It's pretty fun cuz we know God places everyone in our way and we know we can get more baptisms for ourselves from talking to everyone. We haven't had a bapt yet. I actually have a rally mustache right now lol jk. But for real I miss that feeling. There is a Elder from Olavarria (other area like 7 min drive away) and he's in the Utah South mission, El Fuentes. He was telling his mom how he had a bad week cuz they didn't baptized anyone that week lol. Then that got me thinking why can't we have a baptism every week also. We can have them I believe. I know it will take a ton more work. We are always trying to be the best, my comp and I, can be. With this new transfer beginning I have high expectations. I want to work absolutely as hard as I can with zero regrets. Maybe we'll have one bapt this transfer. But I know if we do everything we can we'll be blessed.

It's cool having 6 months in the mission! As dad said, I finished my freshmen year. I like those comparisons. Sophomore year is beginning. I have a lot of expectations. Time to step up! I'm pumped lol.

Had a primary program thing at church. There was like double the people. We missionaries and former sang Called to Serve. It was pretty powerful! It was cool, bout 10 to 14 of us sang. During a kid's talk his sister was by his side and she said, "You're talking with your nose.¨ lol it was funny everyone laughed.

I haven't received gma smarts package.

I also have a jump rope to use. Thank you so much for the exercise thing and tips. I can't wait to start tomorrow morning.

I don't know what time we will skype on christmas. I'll be in Olavarria during it.I think Pablo and Julia said we could use their computer. idk the details on it, but when i know I'll tell you. We may skype from the Fees house idk. It's cool here, for Christmas on the 24th they party hard. Fireworks all night  and stuff. Open some gifts. I think they kinda take it easy after partying all day the 24th lol. Then on 6th of Jan the kids get lil gifts in their shoes like stockings haha. It's a good time to have shaq size feet lol.

My space, mom, is clean. At 1st I was a lil messy, but these last few months I'm gr8 at being clean! My clothes are doing pretty good.

It's good to hear bout the NBA starting on Christmas. Fffeeew, now I can sleep at nights hahaa jk. I don't think bout it that much, but that's good news! I'm crying right now after hearing the utes update. Dang it that stings. Hopefully they get a good bowl and next yr is takeover season for them :) Urban Meyer capo.

Well, take it easy. Have some cake or do something cool in the cold weather haha. It's warm here. Be safe. Choose the right, read the book of mormon and pray and smile. Church is true, no doubt. It's funny hearing others takes on religion and their beliefs, like jehovah witnesses only believe that 144,000 people will be saved. Hmmm does that sound a lil weird? And some lady gave us a lil book from her religion thing and it had a pic of some guy that looks like he has shaving cream all over his face (beard) its pretty funny. I'll get you a pic. But yeH CHURCH IS TRUE AND IM SO GLAD THAT I GREW UP IN THE TRUTH AND GET THE CHANCE TO HELP SAVE PEOPLE sorry that was all in caps lock haha i had my head down typing.

love u all

Eating Thanksgiving Dinner in Argentina!

Isle at Walmart. They love their alcohol here.
Hola personas todo bien!

Happy Anniversary Alyssa Y Scott! It's been a year with plenty more Felices!!

I got Christmas stuff as well as Thanksgiving stuff from gma Merlyn. Thanks. I also got a package from the Facers. Is that for Christmas or now to open? haha. I got all the packages Mom and some dear elders from Alyssa and the Bryan's and some letters to. Thanks everyone!

Its wonderful outside :) I had  my 1st experience with humidity and its awesome cuz its always hot haha! Even at night! Sweeet!

It did rain the other day, but I was happy becuz it wasn't snow lol! I was with Elder Warren when it rained and we were walking on the sidewalk thing and there was puddles in the street and stuff and some car drives by us and splashes us hahaha! It was gr8 haha. It was cool cuz it didn't get us more wet then we already were cuz we were soaked, like throwing water on a wet rag haha. I think it was even funnier cuz Elder Warren hates rain pretty much more than anything haha. But he has a funny good attitude bout it haha.

La conferencia de zona was good. I could understand it especially at the beginning. Then it kind of just faded lol. The conferences are long. We got there at 10 and ended at 7ish. A lot of sitting lol. President talked about how if every companionship gets 3 bapt for the rest of the year we will have 1000 as a mission! So we're working for that as a mish. We had no inv at church, but yesterday is gone. Oh well. Pres also talked bout always setting goals which I like to do! Pres is such a capo. I don't think he's been anywhere in the world without a friend (everyone loves him) and he's funny haha.

Melanie is doing gr8! All her fam goes to church now on a regular basis. We used to kinda push her to church but now she can't get enuff!! Her mom goes to church, she was less active, and her gma goes and her bro who's 6, (and who thinks I'm so cool haha we have a handshake thing) is mad that he can't get baptized yet cuz he's only 6. We have family night with them today. Alicia is trying to quit smoking. We set a calendar up with her to help her quit by Dec 1.

Last Monday after emailing, we knocked a door and some 16 yr old answered. We talked to him and he's a capo. He said he's always seen us in the street but never knew what we teach. He wants to play for BOCA (soccer team) and I think thats awesome. And also he said, "I have a question, what is your thoughts on the end of the world stuff?" And what else is crazy is that the 1st 3 out of 5 days in the week someone brought up the end of the world stuff. I think it's pretty interesting that people nowadays are really interested in what is going to happen to the world cuz it seems like every week some pastor is saying like, ¨Hmm 25 of January, yep the world will end.¨ And especially after 11/11/11 I think you might be able to put that question in with the category of, ¨Why am I here, where am I going¨ stuff. It's pretty interesting. We then obviously explain our beliefs on it and also how we don't think the world will just explode. That's what a lot of people think. I think I'll become good at teaching that subject haha.

Today we had Thanksgiving!! haha We went to the elderly Fees house. We do that on the last Monday in each transfer (eat with the Fees as a zone). We had turkey, mashed potatoes. We also got to watch Cowboys play haha! Just messing! I sat by a new Elder Wagner from Texas, so I felt pretty americonized (cool word). Also the last 2 times we had lunch with them we play that telephone game where you whisper in someone's ear and you try to keep the same sentence by the end of the circle. It is gr8 with people that can't speak espñ and english hahaha. This is the last week of transfers and its good expecting not to go anywhere.

Espñ is espñ! haha Still kinda a week without much progress, but whatever. It'll come!

I like having the winter warm here during the holidays cuz it also helps me stay focused cuz i kinda forgot about Thanksgiving til today and Christmas just cuz it doesn't seem like it haha. So that helps me stay focused.

Haha, the other day we walked by a guy and he had a beer in his hand and he said, ¨Hey guys I know you!¨Then looked at our tags and said, "Oh English, I know English!" Then he said, "cbehbfjafiueafiuahfiueufh" pretending to talk in English. Then he paused and looked up and blinked hard to the heavens for like 20 sec hahaha. My comp and I just looked at each other like who is this guy haha. Then he said, "I have to go." Then left. They like their beer here. We have some drunk buddies that we always pass by going to Maxi and Yamilas. They're pretty cool. One day we'll see them in white :)

More and more kids are playing soccer in the streets. They're coming out of hibernation from the winter. When I get a ball I pick it up and spin it on my finger and they think its soo cool! lol

Go Utes!
Dang the nba isnt sounding good :(

Well ches have a splendish week cuz I will eat some turkey and snow hahaha snow!

yo espero tienen bien dias esta semana con dia de gracias y cosas

chau

Just living the dream! No big deal!

Hola
Just living the dream! No big deal! lol

1st off I wanna say my espñ es (notice i put es instead of is, it just happened) getting better and better each day! We went from only speaking espñ in the street, to all the time now! I can understand my comp bout 80 to 95 % of the time. Crazy huh! And for the other percent I can figure out what that word means just from understanding what else he is saying. Or I have no idea haha. It's still harder to understand Argys cuz they talk faster and the words slur together, but it's still getting better. Just trying to get better everyday, like LeBron always says.

It's cool, just from the last few days when we started doing only espñ (Thursday) my knowledge has grown a ton in espñ. It feels good to have it getting better. With those days where it's like, "Come on espñ, I know I can do it!" But i still struggle with it. It does stink to not be able to understand a lot of people the last 3 months or 4 in argy. idk haha. But now its feeling better. Patience and patience, but I've got a lot of that so I'll be okay.

We had an investigator at church wooooo! It was Ailen the 16yr old who lives withe her bro and has a boyfriend. She was the only one that came. She said her boyfriend, John, was ready but then he kinda just disappeared b4 we picked her up in a taxi lol. But I think she had a good experience en church (there's that en again). The talks were good. Carmen didn't go to church, dang it. Her hubby man, whatever, got transfered to another prison and its farther than the one b4 and so its harder for her to go see him. She was pretty sad bout that. She needs to attend church! Melanie's doing awesome! Alicia is kinda struggling, but we're working with her.

Pres Detlefsen wrote in his email today to us missionaries that its now a rule, kinda thing, that us missionaries should expect to have 6 to 9 months in each area, The missionaries, in all of the mission, when they end, will have bout 2 or 3 transfers. No more for their whole mission. So it looks like I'll be here for a lil bit longer, which I'm cool with. And then I'll probably see 2 maybe 3 other places haha. But I'm cool with that cuz I don't like packing lol. And also this ward that I'm in is considered the strongest in our area, out of like 2 or 3 churches there like 5 returned missionaries. The oldest is like 25, so its strong and young (they have more than 5 RMs they just have a strong age groupish thing).

Pres is also coming to town! It's zone conf this week on Wed and I can't wait to hear Pres cuz I think I'll be able to understand more!! I remember when he was bout to give his lil speech thing last conf I was so excited to listen to him, then right b4 I was like, ¨Oh yeah, I can't understand him.¨haha. I totally forgot for some reason lol. Every missionary that can understand him was like, "He's such a gr8 and uplifting speaker!" And it's like thanks for rubbing it in, cuz i got nothing out of it literally hahaha. I'll see Elder Thomas, 1st comp, again cuz he's still in the same zone. He may sleep at our place to. I hope we get the same elders that stayed with us last time, Elder Campos funny!!!! Elder Rodriguez and Elder Cortes. Won't be surprised if you hear him on a radio after the mish lol. He can sing soo good and my old comp!

Hhmmm what else. Dang it I haven't written that much and I don't know what else to say....... Last Monday we went to some lessons and we went with the old man that started to sing in his talk a few weeks ago. We took him to 2 lessons and boy he can talk hahha. It was gr8. He just kept going and going.

I never talked with the Tooele shirt guy. I haven't checked up on the guy in the accident, but I think hes ok.

The weather is warmer and warmer which is awesomer and awesomer. Alexis, we haven't talked to him for a while. He's never home. We have investigators, Gabriela and Edith, daughter and mom. I think they can progress well, we just can never get them and have a lesson cuz there not home.

Went a lil bit of christmas shopping it was cool.

I know this church is true and its so awesome to be out here working. I can't wait to get the conference Liahona. I'm guessing tomorrow we'll get one so i can just read the heck out of it! I also like to read the conference from last April. Isn't conference so coool? Went to Laprida and Caesar, the future missionary who's 23, went with us. He's so funny! We were leaving a house of a lady who had like a month or 2 month old baby, where we shared a short message. While we shook their hands Caesar kissed the baby for like 3 seconds on it's head haha. You can get away with doing that stuff here. It just seemed a lil weird to me.

We´re going to go on splits this week on Tuesday or Thursday, for like a day and I'll be with Elder Warren capo.

John White sounds awesome and the utes D! And he passed up my main man Quinton ¨i have the coolest walk in the world," Ganther. And i think i could grow a sweet mustache. Dad it's cool, I may have a line down from my nose in the middle of my mouth lol.

NBA sounds not so good! Ugh oh.

I'm here scratching my head not knowing what to say.
Umm keep being awesome! Deben hablar con Chalo y tener El translate este oracion.

The church is true and I know that God knows each and every one of us individually and he knows what we are goin thru.

Anyways, I'm going to wrap this up. Sorry it's short haha. I do have the temptation to just talk ball haha, but im not going to lol.

Love
Elder Reginald Grant Roberts

Witnessed Motorcycle Crash & Tooele Fan in Argentina!

Hey folks hows life!

Its great here!

Happy Bday Grandpa Smart and Sam hope you guys have a gr8 day iFeliz Cumpleños!

So bout my email last week and how it took forever to send. It wouldn't send and so we had to leave, but I saved it and sent it when I was with the other elders who didn't email yet. I'm on today early cuz we have to be at a members house at 6, right when we'd be done emailing so we came early.

I thought I would be a Sr comp this week, but it turns out I wasn't. I was with Elder Warren from Logan UT Smithsville or something. Maybe Alyssa and Scott know them. idk and I was also comps with Elder Moore from Colorado (his dad Tom Moore played running back for the U in like the 70´s). Funny thing bout those 2 is that they were in the same district as me in the MTC for almost a month then they left . They were also both comps in the MTC so i know them pretty good. They're pretty funny. El Warren's comp was with El Stott who's the new one and we all stayed at their house. We did some lessons. Taught Enrique who is a 14 yr old teen boy who kinda likes to hang out in the streets. He loves us missionaries and so we actually taught him a lesson while he was doing yard work. We're going to his house Tues. He doesn't really have a direction in life. I think I've seen him smoke b4 so hopefully we can help him. Comp returned Thurs morning like at 2 am from Bahia.

We have some investigators but they do not like to go to church haha. There's Alexis still, we taught him this week. Also Jesus, we have him tomorrow. He has a crazy mullet. He's bout 17 haha. We didn't get to Ailen and her bro and her boyfriend this week. Also, we're teaching Carmen. She couldn't go to church cuz I think she was visiting her boyfriend in prison. Her bf has told her to go to church and follow God! So we think she'll come this week. We went to Laprida, the town bout 1h 15 min away, with the Fee´s and we set 5 new baptismal dates, but none of them showed up to their little lds church that a young married couple have at their house. We taught a lady and her daughter we contacted last time there and she was happy for our message. We taught her for like 2 hrs. She seemed to love our message and everything made sense to her. Also, we taught a family. The mom is a less active, smokes like a chimney. We set bapt dates for her hubby and 2 daughters. We had good success there at Laprida Saturday. We're going Wed this week.

There were 2 weird things we saw this week haha. Saw a guy on his motorcycle crash. We were walking on the side of the road and we were in a part where there's just a lot of road and no stores and stuff. I had my head down and I heard some honking and a crash sound. We think that a guy, in his low or mid 20s, was nipped in the back by a pick up truck. The guy went rolling and sliding on the street, his bike went sliding and the guy that nicked him in his truck went around us on the grass part on the side of the road and just kept driving lol. We were walking against traffic and I saw the truck driver's face and he just took off. The guy on the bike got up and walked his bike over to the side to where we were (we were pretty close, but not in danger close wise, close enough that I could throw a bball to where is bike landed). He walked to us and he was moaning and ughing. He seemed hurt. He was tough bout it. He had some cuts on his hands and I think a good scrape on his left side. Also we're pretty sure he dislocated his shoulder and maybe broke his left collar bone. He was leaning down to the left. Another man that saw it stopped in his car and asked if he should call an ambulance. The bike guy was like, "No no!" I think he wasn't insured yet haha, but he called anyways. We stayed for a lil bit longer then left. It looked like (when he was rolling) just like one of the racing bike crashes on tv, but everything went well haha. He's fine. He's lucky that he was wearing long sleeves. haha  Anyways, also, yesterday I saw a teen bout 18 outside by his house in a purple shirt and I looked closer and I'm like, "What the heck! That is a Tooele Buffaloes high school shirt." I couldn't believe it hahaha! I guess T-town has a global fan base.. I saw it with my eyes it was nuts. It had a white buffalo with a T in it or something. hmmmm random I didn't talk to him haha but if i see him again i will.

Espñ is doing alright. It didn't do much better this week dang it. Some days I can understand people and others for some reason can't. In church yesterday I explained a lil bit bout these lil church cards that we give to members and they help us to find investigators, but they don't really like doing that haha.

Went to Centro today and looked at some stuff, but didn't buy anything. We were in the soccer store and on the radio was some guy talking to music in English saying how michael jackson is alive and how he planned the fake death and has a different identity haha. Then they played a recording of someone trying to sound like MJ but it obviously wasn't him haha.

It's pretty warm here. I'm liking it. My comp thinks its very hot lol. But it's really not that bad. It has been a lil bit of utah weather this week where it will rain the morning and then at 2ish or something it'll get hot haha. It doesn't seem humid. Feels kinda like utah weather, but i think my hair does get a lil curly. I can't tell a whole lot cuz its not long, but it kinda feels different.
Halloween isn't as big here as the states. Saw 3 lil girl dressed up as devils and the rest of the kids just went around with a weird hat or something. Not much kids. At wal mart they have all Christmas stuff up awwww yeah I'm defiantly in favor of celebrating it whenever.

Well gracias por todo you are all awesome. The church is true and I'm glad that Ii can serve a mish. It's hard at times, but thats okay. If it were easy then you'd never grow.

Thanks for everything
Love Elder Reginald Grant Roberts or Roberto haha yeah they dont like to say their S´s here haha
ps keep being happy !!

Happy Halloween from Argy

Top of the muffin to you all!
It is a great warm day outside. Where there may not even be a cloud in the sky, allegedly haha. Hope it's not too cold up North haha.

Also Happy Halloween!
They kinda do it here, I think haha, They have a lil section in wal mart for masks and stuff so i guess it exists here. We also saw some trick or treaters yesterday. idk why they were out since it was a day early, but hey, the early bird gets the worm right haha.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I'm writing this a lil early today cuz my comp (District Leader) is going to Bahia Blanca for a few days for some leadership meetings. He'll get back I think Wed night. It's also sweet cuz I believe I'll be with Elder Stott from Highland UT. He only has one full transfer in so he's one behind me...it's going to be so cool being a Sr comp for a few days in the middle of Argy world where we know some of the language haha. I'm actually pretty excited cuz we both are in the same position and so we'll grow together these next few days. I think he may be a bit homesick, so I'll try and have a good time with him and cheer him up.

My Espñ is going gr8! It's really improved this week a lot. I can be in lessons and get more of what was being said. I can talk better more. Talking all espñ in the street helps sooo much. Yo siento mucho mejor con espñ esta semana haha. We are teaching a teen probably 17- 18 yrs and during the lesson, Jesus asked my comp if he had kids and my comp was like, ¨yeah¨ and since my espñ listening has gotten better I thought, "Did I hear that right?" Then my comp realized what Jesus was saying and then comp was like, "Oh no no I don't have kids.¨ It was funny! I was trying not to laugh during the lesson a few minutes after that haha. And also in the same lesson we were explaining the sacrament and how water represents the blood of Jesus Christ and Jesus(the inv) was like,  ¨You guys drink blood?¨ hahahaha It was a lesson where the comunication level wasn't gr8 hahaha.

We had splits on Tuesday and I was with Elder Perez from Mexico. But he also lived in So. Carolina for 4 yrs so he knows Engish. It was cool, I could say everything I needed to say to him with some Eng words here and there. It was awesome!! haha We also were going to ask this man for some directions, then tie into something about the gospel. When Elder Perez was approaching him and Perez said, "Hola"  it was hilarious the guy immediately grabs his shoulder like he got shot or something and was like, "Aw eh," or something in Espñ and he kept walking. He totally pulled a Tom Jones and played hurt out of no where so we didn't have to talk to him hahaha. We also taught Alexis, the 17 yr, old guy. We talked about the Book of Mormon and prayer and it went well! We tried other times in the week but he wasn't there.

On Saturday went went tracking with a 23yr old member named Cesear. He was converted 4 yrs ago and he's about to put in his paper. He's the only member in his fam and he's awesome! Such a strong testimony and is goin to be a gr8 missionary. We taught a bum in the street, but the bum didn't really want to have much to do with the church after talking with him for like 40 min which seemd like forever. Hopefully Cesear goes to Utah on his mission. We live in (I have no idea what Mission it is lol, SLC S. idk lol)

I gave the closing prayer in church yesterday in sacrament meeting. One of the counselors in the bishopric asked me to do it b4 the meeting. And I guess in the meeting he announced that some sister in the ward was going to say the closing prayer, but I had no idea, so you know I go up and say the prayer. When I went back my comp was like they announced that this lady was going to do it haha. So I bet everyone was a lil confused when the american missionary who doesn't know much espñ stood up and started heading towards the pulpit hahahaha. I'm glad my comp didn't tell me or anything hahaha jk comp is a capo.

The former missionaries and current missionaries in our ward will be singing Called to Serve on November 20th for some primary program. So you know what that means! I'm getting my Michael Jackson vocals ready. I think this will be a gr8 step in my music career. I'm ready for it haha :) chiste chiste

Went to Laprida. Taught some lessons (its bout 1h 15 min away). Lessons were pretty good. We're still testing it out there for future missionaries. We went with the Elderly couple the Fee´s. Elder Fee has been to every state and 19 countries. Daaaang if I ever get lost in the world I hope he's on my right side haha.

Was talking with a member and he had a cool shirt in espñ. I could understand it all up to halfway down his shirt. I stopped cuz i didn't want to look weird, just staring at his shirt hahaa. It was bout 20 to 30 words i read. I felt soo good about it. espñ is making some gr8 steps!

Next week comp and I are goin to Centro to go Christmas shopping. Oh and i got some money out. Thanks. Thank Sister Madson for the money. Also you're awesome! Thanks for the letter Lonnie! It was great, I really enjoyed it.

Church is true, keep being awesome and choosing the right! Have faith and don't give up!

Have a great Halloween and watch some scary movie...it's weird, it doesn't even feel like halloween cuz its warm, but yeah.

Elections in Argentina!

Basketball!!  (Notice the the person on the Gatorade - Manu!!)

Buenaaas!
Happy Birthday again mom. I have to say it again cuz your Bday was in the middle of the week haha FELIZ CUMPLE!
All is terrific here! The weather is getting warmer and warmer!

There were elections yesterday, so we had 1 hr of church, but it lasted 1hr 15min cuz there were 2 speakers who gave like 30 min talks. haha. One old man, maybe 80 or 90, gave a talk and he was talking about hymns and he started to say the words to the song ¨tengo gozo en mi alma hoy¨ in eng ¨there is sunshine in my soul today¨ and then he started to sing it haha. It was awesome this old man singing away. He only did a lil bit, but it was great haha!
It's a law for every citizen above the age 18 to vote, so that is why there was a lot of voters like 70%.
So Christina won. Yeah her signs are all over the place. And it's funny cuz all of the running presidents who are trying to make this country better always make it worse with all their fliers and posters cuz a lot of it ends up as garbage in the street. The other day we were knocking a door and I was watching the workers, who hand out fliers at each door, ¨vote Christina¨ stuff and they just throw it in front of the house and sometimes they give like 2 to 3 to a door. Its funny!
A popular dish in Argentina
This last week I read the letter from Nancy and Kevin Duncan. The one they gave to the new missionaries. And I read the 10 parts of it and a thing that comp and I are doing now from that is contact 10 people a day, personal 20 total. That is great i love it and it helps!
We were doing that and knocked a house of a women, Natalia, low 30s and we gave her a lesson at the door and she seemed like a good inv. Also, went by another house a women low 20´s and taught her in her door. Comp and I will say, "Do you have 5 min so we can talk about gospel?" If they say yes it always seems to average bout 20 min cuz people do get interested and they listen to us. We taught a teenage boy, 17 named Alexis yesterday and he seems like another good inv. We have an appointment today with him. He's a smily 17 yr old and seems like a good kid. Future missionary aye! haha We taught Eileen and Luis and her Boyfriend. At 1st it was just her and her boyfriend, then Luis came home. He was High on drugs. He came and sat with us and he would just stare at the top of the wall like he's in the zone and then he'd start laughing and also he'd walk to the corner of the house to go into the kitchen and then he'd come right back and sit down. One time he was also staring at me for like 3 min straight. lol It was a lil funny cuz he was so out of it. But at the same time it's sad. So don't do drugs kids. It was a good lesson. I hope they do their part and read the Book of Mormon and pray.
Got a reference for a man who has a family of 7. His lil son is friends with a member. His son and him went to his son's friends baptism and that made him interested. We taught him yesterday. He's one of those guys, ¨Oh yeah, I've listened to a lil of every religion" but doesn't have a set one. We really hope all goes well with him. His son's name who went to the baptism is Nachoooooooooo!!  No joke haha I was smiling when his lil bro would call his name haha. Adrian Gonzalez, we haven't taught him since last Sat cuz he's never home, but we keep trying!
Horse Meat
On Tuesdays we go with the Elder and Hna Fee, the elderly couple, to Laprida which is bout an hour & 15 min from our house, but still technically in our boundaries. We are kinda testing it out there to see if the interest of the gospel is there to know if President should put some missionaries there some day. The drive there is like this________ flat hahaha just a bunch of fields, some trees. It's crazy and sometimes it hurts my eyes lol. I'm going to take my camera tomorrow and take some pics cuz it's so weird haha.

Comp and I played BBALL today! It felt soooo good! My shot was kinda good. It has been almost 3 months since I've actually played, so my game was a lil ¨eh¨ but thats alright. I'm happy with my form tho.
BASKETBALL!!!  (Or just "basket" in Argentina)
They do have Halloween here. I just don't know if kids actually go door to door. If so we'll defiantly pass out B o M´s hahaha. It's spiritual candy and the taste lasts forever. haha
I also don't need any colored pencils for scriptures, I bought some in the mtc, but thanks.
Yeah yeah Sub thats awesome being on varsity I'm going to guarantee you´ll play, I'm guaranteeing it right now!  So be ready :) yeah and what number are you wearing better be the tres uno hahaha jk congrats to Jodi and Sim thats awesome!
V thats sweet you're getting Braces!

It was funny yesterday we walked by a street and some drunks were yelling, ¨Spies of Bush¨ haha ¨Return to your country¨ funny.

Espñ is doing alright. Still needs work. I can understand what's being talked bout more. In district meetings and stuff I have really tried to do what Michael Sorensen gave me advice to do, which is to really try and listen. It could be soo easy to get distracted and not listen cuz you don't know what they're saying, but since I'm really trying my espñ is better. So thanks Michael it helps a ton!

I read Chalo's email and I understood most of it or what he was trying to say. Thanks that's awesome!

Its cool, lately I've been doing great not thinking bout Babylon and stuff like that. I feel different and better. Also, I am really loving sharing the gospel. It brings me joy! Just seeing Alicia this past week and she's doing awesome with not smoking and everything. She says she feels better and sometimes when she gets cravings to smoke she walks, so she's awesome. Also, Melanie seems to have become more interested in the church since being baptized. It's amazing seeing the results before and after Baptism even just seeing them you can tell there's something different with them! amazing!

Well everyone keep being Capos and keep choosing the right
Love

Glad to be staying in Olavarria with same Comp!

Happy Birthday mom this week and also Happy Mothers day!! haha yeah it was mothers day yesterday lol. That was a lil weird having it in Oct. I got you a card. It should be to you in 2 weeks or whatever!

I am reporting from Olavarria, so I'm still here for another transfer! I'm pretty excited about it. I love it here. It is growing on to me, and plus my comp is a capo! So I'm glad I'm here (still have same comp).

We baptized Alicia on Saturday! She quit smoking on Monday and hasn't smoked since. She is a strong person like spiritually and stuff. My comp baptized her and confirmed her as well! Now we will be trying to work with her two daughters. Comp and I feel like they will be good investigators soon. We haven't taught them, but we both feel that one day they'll be baptized, just one of those feelings kinda things.

It's starting to warm up a lil. It's still a lil bit cool to me. I'm excited to try out this humidity thing hahah. Everyone I think I've ever talked to says they hate it haha.

Espñ is doing pretty good. I actually had a dream last night that dad and gma merlyn and chalo were speaking in espñ. So that is my 1st dream in espñ! I did also do that lesson in district meeting in espñ but I mostly read from BoM. It helps to have a great memory in learning a language cuz what I do is learn a word then say it in a sentence. Maybe think about it for a few min and then it's in my head. I'm thankful for that gift, instead of having to write it down i just remember it. It's a great blessing!

Yesterday at sacrament meeting some Dominican Republic man spoke and he had a different accent and he talked soooo much slower then anyone here. It was great!
Also, yesterday we attended (dang it i forgot how to say that in eng) someone and it was a referral that we got from the other elders. Eileen, a 16 year old and her bro Luis and  then her boyfriend showed up and we taught the 3 of them. Eileen is interested but is still trying to get over the Joseph Smith prophet thing and BoM. Her bro is lil interested. He likes to smoke. It was funny, his sis wouldn't let him smoke in the house cuz we were there, so he just sat there with the cigarette in his mouth, like come on let me smoke. And then her boyfriend showed up and he seemed to understand everything well. He was teaching her after he understood something it was great. After I asked my comp if that lesson counted as a lesson with a member cuz they had Blades of Glory playing with John Heder in the backgroung lol.

This coming weekend, on Sunday, we'll have an hour for church cuz of elections again I guess. And now I'm done with the 12 week new missionary program (where you study personal an hour, then 2hrs comp, then language in the morning starting at 8) so now we can start going out at like 11:00 or 10:30 instead of 12:30 or later cuz lunch sometimes.

Also, here its cool sometimes they go by the 24 hr clock like right now its 18:07 and for the date they do it backwards today is 17/10/11.

Also, we went back to the tent people. This time we taught the brother and then his aunt or some lady, then the bro's sister (yeah idk who they are all related lol). It went well. She is evangelical and when i prayed at the end, she was like praying aloud, quietly to herself cuz i guess that what evangelicals do haha. So I was like why is she mumbling to herself while I'm praying haha. We also talked about prophets and she was like yeah see that girl (who's like 5) she's a prophet haha.

We also taught Adrian Gonzalez. He's been an inv for a while, but we haven't been able to find him. He likes the church, I think he just needs to be dedicated to it. My comp kept giving him scriptures and he kept trying to find paper that he could mark the scripts with, so he can read them later, so that was good to see. Also, during it he had music on and the usa music that some people listen to here. It is like weird 80s rock or madonna weird stuff. It's funny cuz they don't even understand it, they just like the beat.

Today we had planned to borrow Joaquinn Gallis bball and go play some ball, but his cousin, I guess, forgot to give it to us (cuz he had Joaquinn's ball). So I almost got to play today but watever. He did get my hopes up though lol next week.

This week we also went to some less actives houses and talked to them. One lady asked us if we believed in planets. We were like yes and then she went on to say how she is scared of the planets. She is a lil crazy and we kept inviting her to start to pray and read the BoM and how that will help her but she doesn't really do that stuff. Also this week we went to a less active man and he started saying how the Chinese are putting metal parts in people when they do surgery and how the people will become robots and how the world will be taken over by robots. hahahaha these are real people. I can't believe they actually believe that stuff. We'll keep working with them  and help them.

It was cool, one of the teenagers I see in the street sometimes is in here and when we walked in he yelled, "Fight!" haha cuz thats one of the words Elder Thomas and I taught him.

I'm going to finish the Book of Mormon tomorrow! I've been thru it one and a half times on the mish (I was in Alma 58 when I started Mish). Do you have any tricks for marking scripts or stuff? I'm not good at just pulling scripts out of nowhere about baptism and stuff, or the restoration. What happens to me is, I just read and I forget to check where I'm at in the book lol. For example I'll be in Alma 12 then wow I'm in ch 23. I guess I need to pay more attention to where I'm at lol.

Go Utes and Packers and A. Smith and Steve Smith and Panthers and Mike Vick.

Once again happy Birthday mom Felice Cumple, I wish I could write that in front of our house(UT) in the street with graffiti cuz thats what they do here, all over the street when somone has a bday haha.

Love u all

hmm I don't know what I want for christmas. I guess you can surprise me. You're always good at that!

Teaching in a tent!

Hola everyone out there! all is good here!

This week went really well!! Comp and I kind of made it a goal to talk to more people in the streets and stuff. So we did that and we could really see big results from that.

We were walking one day and we talked to this lady outside of a kiosco (a lil store) u know trying to talk to more people and she was interested and told us to come by later in the week. So we did and we knocked at her door and as we did that, her bro pulled up and said she wasn't home and to come by again. But then we went around their house to take a short cut and we saw her outside by this tent. She told us to come inside and we can talk to her family as well. Now this tent thing was like 40 feet wide and bout 10 to 20 ft high and it was a lil weird cuz they had some beds set up and a tv so it looked like they were going to have a party. Also on the side inside the tent they were cutting open a pig lol the pig was all clean and stuff no guts just the meat part lol. Alyssa probably would have thrown up bahaha..Anyways we started to talk to this lady that we met the other day at the lil store and her dad was listening too. They both seemed interested. There was also bout 15 other family members in this tent, but the only ones that listened to us was the girl and dad. Then a truck pulled up with 4 men. We think bros of the dad and one of them asked us what we believe in..they arrived at the end of our lesson with the girl.. so we kinda taught the men all over again. We got like 8 new investigators out of that visit and were going to meet with them again this week.

Also, Alicia our investigator has a baptismal date for this Saturday!! We went by her house yesterday and when we asked her if she wanted to get baptized Saturday she started laughing and we couldn't tell if she was going to say no or yes, but then she pretty much said yes of course. We kinda surprised her that we could baptize her this Saturday. She said she has known the church is true ever since Elder Thomas and I taught her about the plan of salvation, and she said she always wants to feel the spirit!! The problem with her is that she smokes and so we need to teach her bout that and she has some doubts bout tithing so we need to teach her bout that too. But so far she's been very acceptive to the gospel so i don't think that she'll have many problems!!

Since comp and I have been speaking only in Spanish in the street (they actually made that a mission rule now, only espñ in street and when you're with 3 or more missionaries) my espñ has improved a ton. On our way to a 30 min walk lunch I gave my comp the 1st lesson in espñ. Obviously I didn't talk a whole ton bout it cuz I'm still learning, but i did what i could, it was pretty cool. Also, yesterday at sacrament meeting I was able to get sentences out and understand a lot of what people were saying. It's pretty sweet lol

Hey do we have that Mother Teresa quote at home where she says its not between you and people its just between you and the lord? If you still have that on the side of the fridge could you email it to me that quote cuz I like it and I actually think it could help investigators. gracias

This week we did some door knocking in an area we don't go to alot and its all dirt roads and open fields with some trees haha its pretty cool i think..no mountains haha.

In district meeting I gave a lil lesson about how we can baptize thousands of people like Ammon, Aaron, etc from the Book of Mormon. I said with God, faith and the spirit, we can do it! That has been on my mind a lot (how they were able to bapt a ton ) and I can just imagine them talking to everyone in the street and it also said how they taught with the spirit so that kinda sparked comp and I to try to talk to everyone. Cuz I think its is totally possible to get a lot of baptisms. I don't just want to baptize a lot for the big numbers I want to convert and bring people to Christ. Cuz if you think about it we see a ton of people each day and a lot of them are probably ready for baptism, we just need to open our mouth.

Showed some members some of the pics you sent me and they saw the one of Scott and Clayton and they asked me if Scott is funny just from seeing that pic haha i started to laugh and said "si" haha. Also they asked me if mom was one of my sisters. They were like oh thats your mom haha.

Still need to find a card for you mom. We didn't have time today cuz we shopped this morning (they have no cards at wal mart) then went to lunch with all our district at the Fee´s house (the elderly couple) and then it was siesta time after and plus its some holiday today so most of the stores are closed. So for sure next week mom l'll send that card for you haha.

Is there anything I want for Christmas? I think I'm pretty good with stuff lol I wont mind the gift of tongues hahahahha.
The sports updates aren't really distracting. I've been doing alot better this week. Not thinking bout bball, sports etc. So if you think it'll be distracting for me then you don't have to tell me whats goin on. But they aren't that distracting as much now so your fine if you send them.
Dad who is the principal where you work? Did you say you work at some place in tooele where all students from the 3 schools go to? Or do you work at THS and students just meet there. And nice work on the survey thing! Hey V thats pretty crazy how you had that needle in you! wow! It's also sweet how everyone knows you now from it.

My health is doing better not sick anymore!

My 2nd transfer in arg is almost over it ends this week. Wow time flies! i could be out of Olavaria. I don't think I will be, but who knows. It kinda reminds me of trade deadline day in the NBA. You just get a call on Friday and they tell you where your going if your going somewhere and then you leave to your new place on Sunday I'll  try not to make it make me think to much of NBA trade deadline day lol. But I think Olavarria has interest in me for one more transfer at least or I may get traded to Bahia. Who knows lol.

Thanks for all i love u all

General Conference in Argentina!

¨Hello!!¨ President Monson style hahahhaha

That man is amazing, haha he's so awesome and so funny haha.

I enjoyed conf this weekend! It was awesome!! I listened to all of it in English except for the very 1st talk in espñ by Elder Scott which was translated by him in espñ by the way. He knows espñ. That got me wondering if Kevin did his talk in espñ too or did they have the translators do it for him. They set up a little room for 6 of us elders to listen to it in English. Hermana (Sis) Fee was there and 2 other Argy girls that know Eng. I really enjoyed Pres. Uchtdorf's talk and I also liked Elder Ardern, that british accent chap, about spending your time wisely. Did anyone else think he had the sultriest tones known to man? haha I love his voice. I loved all the talks. Can't wait til they come out in the Liahona. I  also loved Barbara Thompson from Sat morning about personal revelation.

Conference started at 1pm to 3 then 5pm to 7. The priesthood session was at 9 to 11. But because we can't stay up that late we watched it Sunday morning at 10 am. It was all in espñ..ugh. My favorite part though, was when Pres. Monson was moving back and forth and around like he's on a bus. (I think that's what it's about cuz I heard him say bus in English over the espñ translator.) So that was probably my favorite talk hahah since I have no idea what anyone else talked about. haha The translator talked pretty fast hñrgjñagrhgrhgjrkrg and so I don't know what the priesthood session was bout. I'll just wait for the Liahona for the talks haha.

I love what they're doing with the new temples. Elder Fee, one of the elderly missionary couples, served in Paris and he and his wife served in Africa. So it was a great day especially for him. 3 new temples on the same day where he's served. Hna Fee about jumped out the roof when they announced the african temple. I can't wait til they call a temple here in Bahia Blanca!!!! My goal is to be serving here when they call it!! We may need some more members around Bahia Area, but as Luke 1:37 always says, "For with God nothing shall be impossible!" So with that on my mind, and determination, why can't we get a temple while I'm here? I have what, 3 more chances? Thats my goal!! ¨New temple in Bahia Blanca Arg.¨ I'm going to stand up wherever I am, put my hands in the air and scream! Then start doing the Charleston hahaha that will be a great day...luke 1:37 :)

Thanks for the pics. Didn't do really good with getting investigators to church. Alicia was the only one that showed up and she could only stay for 30 min. I wish they could have all come because it would have helped them a ton! It just hurts me that they weren't there ugh. But oh well, today's a new day!

I am felling better. I was a little achy, more kinda just tired. I didn't even work out this last week cuz i needed to reserve my strength for the day.
Remember how I said it was like 80 last Monday? Well, it's been pretty much kinda cold since. haha It rained like crazy one day, it was Wednesday, I think, and we had a zone leader with us also for the day cuz his comp went to another area for business. We taught a really good lesson to this mid 20 yr old named Gabriela. We were outside about 4 or 5ish. Then as we were going home it started to rain. We got home, got our jackets, then went out again. We went under a big tree for a little bit cuz it was just pouring!! Then we saw this lightening brightly go and like a second later or less a big boom like a canon went off! I wasn't as freaked out as I have been before about lightening cuz I feel protected and I know I am on a mission, but I still was freaking out hahaha. Lightening and thunder are my weakness hahaha.

Espñ is doing alright, still there. I have talked to people a little more. It's still one of my weaknesses. I'm trying though. My comp and I are starting now to only talk in espñ in the streets. No english, so i know that will help me a ton!!!
How's lucy!!? Still walking her?!!

Today we went to Centro. Centro is a place that like 99% of cities. It's like downtown slc with stores, footlocker type stores. Just everything. I love it cuz there's a ton of little stores that are awesome!! Lets just say you guys (6 fam members) would go crazy (mainly girls) here especially you girls. I saw a store full of purses and girl shoes, and they aren't like payless shoes. There are some fancy designs that I've never seen! And it's awesome how everything here, compared to the us dollar is cheaper! Like 100 peso shoes are $25. Now think of nice shoes for 100 dollars in us and you can get them for 25 us dollars here. haha It's awesome!! You guys would love it! Went to ¨El Superclasico¨ which is a store with tons of Soccer 90 % and 10 % bball. I know for sure the Holdstocks would go insane in there. They have everything, Messi jerseys, Ronaldo jerseys, other jerseys, socks, shorts and just random memorabilia. I was looking at a Bball section and what did I find? A Favring Manu Ginobili Argentina jersey!!!! no. 5! I did buy it. It cost 90 pesos which is about 35 us dollars. Not bad I say! So that was kinda my christmas gift! haha

Our investigators aren't really moving much. We just need to keep being persistent with investigators like Luis and Adrian. Alicia is probably closest to bapt.
The music in general conference (for espñ was in English, like Mo Tab). Saw Bro. Poulson aww yeah.
That's sweet Soelbergs is done. Can they change it to Soulbergs lol. Yeah it's nice here. If you want fresh bread you can go kitty corner and buy some. If you need basically anything, you can walk to a little store called Kiosco´s and they have like all your necessities. Ham, cheese, pretty much anything.

I love you all. I know this church is true and no one, no thing, nothing can change my mind. There are so many evidences that this church is true. Why would any one die for a religion if it wasnt true, like Joseph Smith. If you've ever read the Book of Mormon with real intent, you know without a doubt its true. Your life begins to change. You feel peaceful and happier. I know God is real and his son, Jesus Christ, is our savior and I know that we are never alone. Our Father in Heaven loves us with a perfect knowledge!!!

Baptism!

Hola! This week was a sweeet week!

We finally baptized Melanie, wahoo!! On Thursday night she had her interview, then on Saturday was her baptism! We went over to her house like an hour 30 minutes before the baptism and we filled out the paper work, her name, where she lives, etc. Then my comp asked who she wanted to baptize her and she pointed to me!! So I got the honors of doing it!! Right when we left I immediately started practicing the baptismal prayer. I'm thankful that Pres. Studdert in the mtc challenged us to memorize it, so I had it mostly memorized.  The hardest part was trying to memorize her name, ¨Melanie Andrea Nexhip Aravena¨ lol. So we had that and I baptized her. The water was kinda cold haha. It also makes you have a good felling afterwards, like I have officially baptized someone!

On Tuesday, I think, we had our interviews with Pres. Detlefsen, that man is so cool! I was surprised how much i could understand him (I didn't have a translator). I understood every question and like 80 to 90 percent of everything it was sweet! I remember my 1st day in Arg with my interview with Pres. and I had a translator and I could not understand a thing he was saying. I'm proud of myself. He's a funny guy. A typical Argy who loves people and loves to joke. He was hugging an elder and was saying how easy it is to hug that elder cuz he is so small hahaha.

Before I forget can you maybe send some pics of the fam and etc thru the computer? Then I can print them out here. People love to see pics here! And also if there is a day where I don't email (on Mon.) it may be some kind of holiday and we cant get into an internet place cuz they're all closed. They like to put their holidays on Monday so they can have a 3 day weekend. So if that ever happens, I'll email as fast as i can. And you can even call the mission if you want to. Just a heads up.

My espñ has seemed to really get better since the interview with Pres. My mind can translate faster and pick out words faster. I'm also trying to do what Michael said to do. That the fastest learners really pay attention when someone is talking espñ. And to practice my espñ sometimes I just say random stuff to my comp or to myself. For example, ¨Hoy sento como un mariposa porque hoy es lune¨ haha. That means, "Today I feel like a butterfly because its Monday." lol There is an elder in my district from Arg and to practice his English he says random stuff like, "I feel like..um.. eh.. Dictionary.¨So to practice talking I do that to lol.

I ate some horse! It was like sandwich meat, round like bologna with white spots in it. Kinda greasier than bologna, but it was good. You just throw it on some bread haha.

Last night I could barely sleep. I was really cold, then I got really hot and i woke up feeling sick. But then after studies this morning I took a nap, which you can do on preparation days. I just crashed, I was so tired. And it's funny, when we went to Walmart today, i guess Walmart does siestas also. I didn't think they did, so we didn't have anytime to shop today cuz it was closed. haha So we'll do that tomorrow haha siestas.

Alicia Falcon, one of our investigators, showed up to church. We were happy and I also got to stand in the circle for Melanie's confirmation.

My comp's doing good. He's pretty funny. For food we always get lunches from members most days and for breakfast I eat cereal. For dinner we eat leftover lunch or whatever fruit, crackers, etc. maybe a sandwich. It has warmed up today. While we were walking to Walmart it felt like the hottest day so far here, maybe high 70s low 80s but then it got cloudy.

For October, Pres. has challenged us, as comps, to get 3 baptisms this month. There are 84 companionships here, we have the same challenge for this month. I can't wait for general conference. Are we still 3 hrs apart from Utah? Or has there been daylight savings. If it's still 3 hrs we will have conf at 1 and 5. It'll be weird and priesthood starts at 9:00 pm hahaha idk if we watch that live cuz its so late. My comp said he saw it in between sessions on Sunday one time. I also asked the zone leaders if they can get an english room haha so I know what's going on.

Had another funny prayer story. We were outside at some guys house. He called us over and told us to come talk to him. During the closing prayer I said please bless Omar (his name), his family and friends and then he blurted out something in Spanish. I didn't know what the heck he said hahaha so i just made a similar noise to what it sounded like to me hahahaha. "Please bless fnkjvihsuior" hahahaha. I asked my comp what he said and I guess he said to pray for his friend who's sick, who we were talking about in our meeting. Thankfully there were cars and we were outside and so I could just mumble and call it good hahaha I loved it.

Well thank u  love u

Working so hard - forgot about the BYU vs. UTAH Game

Good day all! Good here. Livin the dream! haha

Liked to give a shout out to V feliz cumpleaños ayer! 13 awesome! Comp and I sang happy bday yesterday! lol

Wow I'm actually embarrassed to say this, but i totally forgot Utah and BYU played! WOW! Thats right, its the 3rd week already!  Go UTES! Sounded like a great game :) I guess that means I'm focused on the work if I forgot. hahaha 54 to10 thats watsup!

We had no baptism this week cuz Melanie said she'll get bapt when she's ready. I think tomorrow I'm just going to bear my testimony about baptism and holy ghostas best as I can. I think she has the attitude like I'll get around to it when I want. So hopefully my testimony will help.

Yeah, on Monday night I was with Elder Warren until Tuesday night. We didn't get to teach any lessons cuz Alicia wasn't home and we couldn't find a man member to go with us to Melanie's cuz she lives with her mom and gma and lil bro. No man in the house, so we had no lessons. But we had an interesting door approach. We talked to a man named William. At first when we told him who we were he said he's angry, not now, but he was still cool bout it. Then he asked if me and Warren in english where we're from cuz it's obvious how we sounded haha. We told him and then I said do you know english and he said yes. Then I said, "Hey we can teach you in english?" He said no cuz he's angry at God cuz his wife just died like a month ago from cancer. He was talking to us in english we were talking in espñ and he was like crying and tearing up and saying how he missed her. So we talked about the plan of salvation and you could tell this man (he's 40) really misses her. He cried, then both me and Warren started crying cuz we felt for this guy. It was an experience where it kinda hit me like people really need our help (us missionaries help) cuz he just seemed lost and helpless. Elder Warren and I both walked away saying that was amazing cuz you could just feel his pain. We went back with Elder Stewart, but he says he's not ready yet. He cried some more, he's just not happy with God but I'll make sure we keep going back. It was a wow moment.
Then the next day we went to Maxi y Yamila´s house cuz her 15v yr old nephew died. We heard from Yamila's friend that he died while we were on the street so we went to their house and that was a wow moment too. Just entering a room a day after one of their relatives died. It felt like the air was sucked out of the room and everyone looked exhausted.  They had that stare in the distance gaze on there face. It was a different experience for me. Their family is doing better. We went the next day again and Maxi y Yamila laughed and stuff. It's still sad for them, but having the gospel in their life right now is really helping them. Maxi´s bro died while they were still investigators to the church so they've dealt with death before. They're strong.

¨Do you remember the 21st night of September,¨ is playing as I'm writing this hahahah. It just turned on. I'm actually on my chair, with the keyboard, still typing while im dancing hahahah. JK im just doing the Carlton thats all baha.

I love it here and the mission. I can feel how the Lord is trying to shape me into a better man. It's tough, but i love it. When I think of the day I left on my mission I felt like a kid haha I feel like I've grown a lot. Espñ is still espñ lol. I'm still trying to listen good and I do need to talk more. I fight with my self sometimes when I want to talk. ¨Do i wanna talk, no. Should I do it now or later. I don't want to but I do.¨ Just a tug of war with myself. It's hard, but I'm really going to try harder to talk. Hermana Fee who is with her hubby on a mission here, they're from usa, and their whole mission is dedicated to help Olavarria get a stake and Bahia a temple. She doesn't know espñ, her hubby does, but she gave a talk in church yesterday and I really loved it. It helped that it was in english and he translated. She talked about how you shouldn't give up on your testimony even when we don't know everything about the church. I was thinking that was the first english talk I've heard since the mtc and boy was it refreshing to understand all of the talk and I could feel the spirit. haha its been a long time.
We had 2 less active ladies show up to church and one brought her son. We saw one of the ladies in the street like 3 wks ago and she just came up to us and asked us what time it was in USA. And she wanted to know what the NBA was. I got sooo excited when she said that haha. Then we saw her by her house going to a lunch. Then she came out with a Book of Mormon and so we've been stopping by her house. She has an 8 yr old son, so we want to get him bapt. She's actually kinda weird lady haha. Then the other one was Ester Gonzalez, mom of Adrian, who we are teaching. We were excited when they showed up.

On Wednesday President is coming to Olavarria for interviews. It's my 1st one with out a translator hahaha. ummm that'll be fun haha. I'm excited.
It was weird, it rained Gatos y Perros on Friday haha (cats y dogs in espñ).
I got the 2 packages today I've only opened one. I sent a letter today home for V. And fam thanks for the package.
Thanks Alison for the email and I got dear elder from Holdstocks.

Well, I love you all keep up the good work keep being happy,
Love
Elder Roberts

Reggie showing off his skills :)
Top of the muffin to you, todo personas leyendo este!

Today is the 12th yesterday was the 9/11 dang i cannot believe its been 10 years since then. That was a terrible day. I remember thinking what's a terrorist? What's terrorism? I was so confused on what was goin on. Just being here in Argentina for the last 47 days I have really gained a better patriotismness and gratefulness of USA. I'm not saying I don't like Arg I love it here, i just have felt so blessed lately from being here to think of all the great things we have in US. Everyone who doesn't like usa from usa should go to a different country and they'll realize how blessed they are to live in Usa. I bet there was a lot of memorial stuff. Some people mentioned it to us the last few days since we're from usa.

Everything is well here. Yesterday Melanie showed up to church and so that means this Saturday (Vs Bday wassup, I'll send your card next Monday). She also brought her less active mom and her 6 yr old bro. So we were pumped about that and we also had 4 other less actives show up to church. So yes it was a good day! Felt really blessed. We have a new investigator. His name is Adrian Gonzalez. We went to his house and his mom was like come in. She is a less active and her son his like 27. We taught him. He liked it. Then a day later on Saturday as a district/stake at our church, we (missionaries) and the youth put on a lil play thing about a B of M story. Each Ward had a different story and Adrian Gonzalez showed up. Izekiel (semi pro soccer player, former inv) and Melanie's mom and bro and 2 other less actives also showed up. We were pumped about that as well!! We did service at a former inv house Norma. We picked up her thorn rose branches. Reminded me of home picking up those. I liked it. Alicia hasn't been to church. I guess she takes sleeping pills and she like physically can't get up until after church starts. idk so we´ll work with her on that.

The other day at Maxi y Yamilas, recent converts, young couple. I was praying, "Please bless Maxi, Yamila, Valentino (their kid).¨ their gma was there to and I couldn't think of her name and at the same time I was trying to think of a way to say, "Bless Yamilas gma" hahahaha. My head was like ummmmmmm uhhhh and I sat there for like 5 to 10 secoonds and Maxi shouts out ¨Ester¨ during the prayer so i said "ëster."  I think it was Ester. I mumbled something that sounded like Ester hahahah. Then ended the prayer. It was the funniest prayer. hahaha

Oh, my comp, Elder Stewart was comp with Elder Kitchen in MTC. Craig and Jill's neghbor. So he was one of the people on that plane that went in the circle etc.! Small world hahaha
Got mail from the reunion from Smarts. Thanks, that was awesome! I like what Paul put about my mission being the 2nd bessd hahaha i laughed. And Nathan, i could understand some words that you wrote me in espñ. haha Got Alyssa dear elder from 25th about Bednar.
Do I use a sharpy for my initials on my shirts etc? A permanent one or what should I use? They're starting to fade.
Reggie's bedroom

My espñ is doing alright. Still taking time, but that's cool. I'm patient. Sometimes I'll be listening and I can get every word for like a sentence. I feel soo good after. It's like seeing how long you can balance on a chair on 2 legs, ¨oh oh oh 7 seconds alright ¨ I get that same feeling,  wahoo a sentence of words I understood. I can understand each individual word in a sentence, but I don't know what the word means. haha People say, after I read, that I have a great accent. So I'd like to thank everyone in the NBA that has had a weird Euro or Esapñ name. haha Saying their names is good practice. Sometime in the street to practice rolling my R´s I say Reginald Roberts, Ricky Rubio. hahaha Rubio is the baller from Spain.

I trimmed my hair today. It was getting a little long by my ears, but its still short. I did good. haha
Tomorrow, while my comp is in Bahia for some meeting, I'm going to be paired up with Elder Warren from logan and he's only been out a month more than me. We are teaching Alicia tomorrow and Melanie. hahahaha That will be a funny lesson to listen in on if you know spanish. Both rookies trying to speak. But thankfully we'll have members with us so they can help us out on what we re trying to say. They have some horse meat in the store down our street and you can get it cut up like ham and I totally want to try some horse! Played some bbal in wal mart. I got a ball and dribbled a little bit and did some air shots. My form looks good. haha Also, with my work outs I can feel that I'm getting more buff. It's sweeet you can see it in my body too. I need to come back looking like dad for sure haha.

Yesterday we went into familia Galli´s house, our neighbors, and they were watching Arg v Brasil in FIBA. I saw Delfino hit a 3.
Dang Utes lost, but that's good they're getting respect. I really love the quote dad said about work hard 24 hrs a day. That is going on my wall for sure! That is legendary!

It's hard but it's fair.
I'm going to try and send some pics.
Love u all
